Still Winter Here

Well its hard to believe that our summer badass excursion to Alaska is one month away, especially when you look at today's snow report. As you can see we normally get around 300 inches of snow for the season but with today's 13 inches and 47 this week we are at 475 inches with a few weeks left in the season and lots of snow in the forecast. Its been a season for the record books for sure and still loving all the sweet powder days we've had and will still get before its done, but all I can think about right now is Alaska.

Paperwork is in, car is ready to go, now its just time to figure out where I'm gonna put all my stuff while I'm gone. Also haven't picked a timetable yet for the 60 hour drive in terms of where to stop and stuff. Anyone have any ideas?

Between a GoPro camera, handheld HD camcorder, digital SLR, and iPad we've got the technology to make this blog sweet to follow this summer so definitely stay tuned.

Adventure Begins May 4th

After thousands of applicants applied for just four bartending spots available this summer at their lodge in Denali National Park, Princess Wilderness Lodges hired Craid Seidel and I for the 2011 season. Although we both have pretty strong resumes, we were definitely in the right place, at the right time, and knew the right people. Regardless of how we got the job, we got it and the adventure begins May 4th with a 60+ hour drive from Breckenridge, Colorado to the base of Mt. McKinley.

We are probably going to drive the first 24 hours or so non-stop, alternating who's driving but making some stops at national parks and amazing scenery along the way. Make sure you subscribe to the blog to the right so you can get pictures and video updates along the way. Craig and I both will be updating the blog regularly so everyone can share this amazing experience along the way.
